6 mile Sunday

Today was wonderful! The sun was shining even though it was a tad bit chilly it was still so nice! Kenzi and I were only planning on doing 5 miles today because that is what my training plan said but we pushed forward and did 6 miles with several running spurts. We walked/ran again at the concord road park trails! We did 6 miles in 1 hour and 22 minutes! Last week we did 4 miles in 1 hour and 10 minutes so I was really proud of our pace increase! We are almost halfway to the half marathon!

My legs hurt real bad :(

4 mile Friday

I am stretching as I am posting this....

I brought clothes to change into after school to go straight to the rec center. My poor husband was willing to go to the rec center with me last night because they usually have open volleyball in the gym. Well just his luck, no one showed up. So he walked/ran around the track above the gym for a little bit, sat on the bleachers and played on his phone and then hit the volley ball against the wall for a bit. Then he got bored, so he came back up to me and asked if I was almost done...I was suppose to do 4 miles last night and only got to 2.3 miles. So I stopped so we could go home.

Today I had to catch up! I did 4 miles on the treadmill in 59 minutes!!!! First 4 mile on the treadmill...whew and it killed me..I am exhausted not to mention that this week was our first full 5 day week since the second week of January and it has been CRAZYYYY!!!!!!

Hopefully this weekend will be nice so Kenzi and I can go to the trail on Concord Road :)

3 mile Tuesday

Wish my sister-in-law lived closer to us.....

Derek doesn't want to exercise with me....and I nagged him to much and made him feel guilty for not going....so we went to our complex workout room and I ran/walked on the treadmill and he did the bowflex for awhile and then walked and read on his iphone....


I on the other had ran 1.25 miles throughout my 3 mile distance for Tuesday. I was pretty proud of myself...If only I could do it consistently and not in spurts. I'm working my way up though!

I NEED SPRING TO GET HERE!!! I'd much rather walk/run outside....

Sunday in the Park

Yesterday afternoon was great! I met Kenzie at a park off of the Concord Road exit right beside the Library. It had miles and miles of amazing paved trails! I think that is going to be our meeting spot for our weekend walks/runs. We walked 4 miles in 1 hour and 10 minutes. It was so nice to have someone to walk with. We only jogged for a little bit but I'm sure we'll work it up to jogging longer and in more spurts. This week's training schedule is 3 miles, 4 miles, 3 miles, and then the big 5 mile on Saturday.


I am in need of a armband for my iphone......It would be r
eally helpful when I walk/run outside.

Wednesdays Workout

Amy and I decided to just go to the cardio room today and do the treadmill instead of "Target Zone" and "Pilates." So we go around 4:30 and it is packed. I got the one treadmill that was left and Amy was stuck on an elliptical. I ran/walked for a little over 30 minutes and did 3 miles! It wasn't as spiritual of a run because a million people were in there and I couldn't just raise my hands if I got blessed by the song, people would think "What's wrong with that girl?" and that would be unnecessary :)

On another note, my best friend from home came down! Her sister had to be down here for the weekend and let her tag along. We hung out at TJ and Heather's on Friday (the norm) and watched Time Travelers Wife...So good and sad and creepy. Then she stayed at our house which she has not seen before. Saturday (yesterday) we got up and ventured to Opryland Hotel and the OpryMills Mall. So frustrated with the route we had to make but that's besides the point and I'm pretty sure I walked more than my alotment of miles yesterday. We walked from 12:15-5ish something in the afternoon with only 2 short sitting breaks (food court and in Nike outlet to try on shoes). It was intense! (Now to the half-marathon training exciting purchases)


Tank and sports bra are from Forever 21 and for a great steal! The others are from the nike outlet! and another great steal!


I gotta go get ready for church..yikes!

Stuck in a Rut..but now I'm OUT!

This past week has been really rough! I had strep throat again for the 2nd time in 2 months, so my training was put on hold so I could recover and since I've recovered I haven't had much motivation and every other day it snows so I don't feel like getting out in the snow to go to the workout room at our complex or to the rec center. BUT Since I had another snow day today because of icy roads in rural areas, I made myself get to our workout room at our complex and I am sure glad I did!


I had such an amazing experience today! I was the only one in the workout room this morning, granted it is a Tuesday morning and there are only 2 treadmills, one bike, one elliptical and a bow-flex thing, but it was great! At first, I put in my headphones, turned on the Price is Right and began walking..but as I was walking and listening to my "Half-Marathon Mix", "Free to be Me" By Francesca Battistelli came on and I knew that today's workout was going to be different. Then a few of my favorite songs by Bethany Dillon ("All that I can Do", "The Kingdom", and "Waking Up") came on and I was just pumped. I had an amazing experience worshiping my Savior while training. I ended up running all together 1 mile! That is great for me, because I ususally just walk at a fast pace and run in small spurts, but those strong and powerful words just spoke to me and I couldn't stop running! I ran for a half mile and then a 1/4 of a mile twice. I just felt that the Lord was pushing me along and helping me to not give up running. I did 3 miles total under 30 minutes. I feel so renewed in my training and in my spiritual walk with my heavenly father.

Day 6

Today was suppose to be my off day, but since I've been slacking and I had another snow day off from school, I decided to go down to the workout room at our townhouse complex. I wanted to do a test on the accuracy of the treadmill because I believe that it is an older model and might be off in accuracy. There could be no way that I did 3 miles in 30 minutes the first time. So I used my iphone/nike+ and it was about a mile off. Derek says that he would bet more on the treadmill of being right than the nike + but who knows. If the treadmill was right, then I did about 4 1/2 miles in 44 minutes. If Nike + was right, then I only did 3 miles in 44 minutes.

Any suggestions if I should get specific running socks, or new shoes? I have nike+ air tennis shoes and have only had them for a year and a half.

Day 4/5

So Saturday I was suppose to walk/run 3 miles, but Derek and I risked our lives and traveled to TJ and Heather's. Which is usually a 35 minute drive, but it took us an hour and a half. Heather and I wanted to go sledding :) Derek and I saw 11 cars stuck off the road on our way to their house. The roads were so bad that we decided to stay over night. This is what I did instead of walking/running on the treadmill :)



We finally came home Sunday afternoon, after our cars were unstuck on the hill into their neighborhood.

Today, Snow day from school. Should've gone to the workout room in our neighborhood but I did wii fit plus for 35 minutes instead. I did the cycling, Run plus, and the skate boarder game! Tomorrow I have another snow day because of icy conditions on secondary streets. I will be going to the workout room to do the treadmill tomorrow. 3 miles this week!
