Short training Saturday

Unfortunately I came down with Strep throat and an ear infection Thursday which put a damper on my full week of training. I'm not surprised because I am a 1st grade teacher and I am exposed to it all the time. But I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. I had woken up in the middle of the night Wednesday with a fever of 103, which I can't remember the last time I ran a fever, went to the doc the next morning, had to miss work Thursday and Friday. So I missed my short 3 mile on Thursday.

Today I woke up feeling good. Not great but good. I felt no pain in my throat, no fever and no pain in my ear. I decided to give my sis-in-law a call to see if she wanted to walk. I couldn't stay inside on this beautiful 73 degree March day in Nashville! I went up to her house and we walked all over her neighborhood. We walked at a good pace but there were a lot and I mean A LOT of hills! We did 5.32 miles in 1:22. Not the greatest but not the worst. We definitely need to kick it up since we only have 35 DAY UNTIL RACE DAY!!! AHHH so crazy!

All in all it was nice to be outside and walk!

  3. I haven't had a workout routine in so long and am having trouble with the "getting started" part! You should be proud of yourself :) Maybe stumbling upon your blog is a sign!?!?!?

  4. It is nice to have a goal to look forward to and something that I have to do since I paid for it (The Music City Half Marathon in Nashville). That is something that helps! I was not athletic ever and now I'm starting to enjoy it! It also helps that I'm doing it with my sis-in-law!
